TWENTY FLIGHT (cover)

Well, I've got a girl with a record machine
When it comes to rocking she's the queen
All alone on a Saturday night
She calls me up so I can hold her tight
She lives on the twentieth floor uptown
The elevator's broken down

So I'll walk one, two flight, three flight, four
Five, six, seven flight, eight flight, more
Get to twelve and I'm startin' to sag
Fifteen, I stop and take a drag
Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock

She calls me up on the telephone
Saying "come on honey, I'm all alone"
I said "baby, that's mighty sweet
But I'm in bed with aching feet"
This went on for a couple of days
But I couldn't stay away

So I'll walk one, two flight, three flight, four
Five, six, seven flight, eight flight, more
Get to twelve and I'm startin' to sag
Fifteen, I stop and take a drag
Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock

They sent off to Chicago for repairs
But I love my baby too much to wait
Til it's fixed I'm using the stairs
They'll find me spread all over the place
One step at a time I go
I hope I get there in time

So I'll walk one, two flight, three flight, four
Five, six, seven flight, eight flight, more
Get to twelve and I'm startin' to sag
Fifteen, I stop and take a drag
Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock
